2025 Foundation Classroom Teacher

St Josephine Bakhita Catholic Primary School is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Foundation Classroom Teacher to join the team of this exciting new school.

The successful applicant will have a demonstrated commitment to Catholic education and to the safety and wellbeing of children. They will;

  • hold a current Victorian Institute of Teaching registration.
  • demonstrate a commitment to the safety and wellbeing of children
  • develop and maintain professional and caring relationships
  • engage students in learning and facilitate best educational practice
  • demonstrate a commitment to the ethos of the Catholic church and school
  • display strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • effectively work as part of a professional educative team
  • demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the progression of learning in all curriculum areas, including Religious Education
  • differentiate learning according to student needs
  • actively involve themselves in personal learning
  • hold an accreditation or be willing to engage in accreditation to teach Religious Education in a Catholic school.

All positions are classified under the Diocese of Sale Catholic Education Limited Schools and Secretariat Agreement 2022.

2025 Mental Health in Primary School Teacher (MHiPS Initiative)

St Josephine Bakhita Catholic Primary School is seeking a dynamic and dedicated teacher to join the team of this exciting new school to lead the Mental Health in Primary School's initiative. The position is a part time, ongoing position, 0.4 (two days).

The role of the MHiPS teacher is to build the capability of the whole school with regard to mental health and wellbeing (identification, promotion and prevention), provide support to staff to better identify and support students with mental health needs, establish clear pathways for referral for students requiring assessment and intervention, and monitor and evaluate student progress. The role was specifically established as a coordination function to support educators in the classroom and to provide a crucial link to resources external to the school.
